Matching Funds Announcement to Treat AIS on Granite Lake!

The Personal Injury law firm of Schwebel, Goetz & Sieben is pleased to match all contributions made within the next 30 days to the Granite Lake Watershed Association up to the amount of $10,000 to fight the Eurasian Milfoil invasion.   A perfect opportunity to double the power of your donation in helping to preserve our lake.

 

As was reported on Thursday, the AIS fund for treating the lake can't cover Eurasian Water Milfoil infestation acreage we currently have. The law firm Schwebel, Goetz & Sieben has generously agreed to match up to $10,000 any NEW contributions the GLWA receives for 2024 treatment. So to be clear, this match only includes new contributions made in the next 30 days. We thank everyone for their generous support of our AIS efforts over the years and ask you to consider helping us utilize this generous matching program so we can treat all areas on the lake this summer.

 

With aquatic herbicide treatment cost of $2,084/acre, currently GLWA budget can cover 11.9 acres of 18.7.

Since the announcement, GLWA has already received an additional $1500 in donations, with the Schwebel, Goetz & Sieben match that becomes $3000, an additional 1.5 acres treated.

 

Eurasian Watermilfoil is an aggressive invasive, even with aquatic herbicidal treatment this year, we should expect a tough battle again next year. 

 

Don't miss this match opportunity, the balance of $10,000 match would essentially roll into our 2025 fight.
